Toscana IGP 100% Sangiovese dall’Azienda Agricola Soldera Case Basse®

Vintage 2013

With the 2013 vintage of the Toscana IGP Sangiovese 100%, the first one after the act of vandalism in 2012, Soldera Case Basse returned to its maximum expression, producing over 16,000 bottles. It is made only with Sangiovese grapes from our vineyards, fermented naturally by native yeasts, without pressing or filtering, without additives (except for very small quantities of sulphites) and ages for a long period in large Slavonian oak barrels.
With the 2013 vintage, the winery decided to highlight on the label the unique nature of this wine (which is the fruit of our terroir in its entirety) by adding the CASE BASSE brand alongside SOLDERA. Moreover, in 2013 the wine TOSCANA achieved IGP status (Protected Geographical Indication), which corresponds to the Italian IGT (Typical Geographical Indication).
The scientific report can be downloaded from the link. It was drawn up for the 2013 vintage by Professor Massimo Vincenzini (Microbiology department, Florence University) and Professor Luigi Odello (International Academy of Sensory Analysis). It is the result of some of the many studies carried out at Case Basse® (including the one on molecular traceability by Dr Vignani, at Siena University) and summarises the main facts.
